The registration process does not require too much paperwork.
This registration is a true flag registration and as Slovenia is a full member of the European Union, it is valid worldwide.

You can register in Slovenia with your name or as a company

Anyone can own a yacht under the Slovenian flag. It is not necessary for the owner of the yacht to reside in Slovenia or even in the EU. The place of residence of the owner is not relevant at all.

Documents required for Slovenian flag registration

During the online registration process for a Slovenian flag registration, we need the documents shown opposite.

Inspection visit and license renewal

There are no initial inspection visits and no license renewal visits (every 5 years for recreational use and every 2 years for commercial use)

MMSI Radio License - for VHF, AIS, Radar and EPIRB


It is required by law to have an MMSI license on board your vessel at all times, so we strongly advise our customers to obtain this when applying for boat title deed.
Having an MMSI license on board avoids problems when you are controlled by local authorities.
Each country has different requirements to receive an MMSI radio license, so choose your flag country and check the details for that specific country on the country page.

 SLOVENIAN FLAG FROM 8,1 UP TO 12 METERS + RADIO LICENSE MMSI
  1. Identity document of the owner in the case of a natural person or identity document of all the directors in the case of a company
  2. Copy of the health card
  3. Title of ownership, accompanied by proof of VAT payment, sales contract (invoice, deed of sale or notarial declaration, other ..)
  4. Copy / scan of one of the following documents:
  5. CE marking or tonnage certificate or manufacturer's certificate
    or yacht manual
  6. In the event of an entry in a previous register, a copy of the cancellation document and a copy of the navigation license of the unit are required.
  7. Delegation to Bandieraok and consent to data processing (available after registration)

  • Identity document of the owner in the case of a natural person or identity document of all the directors in the case of a company
